Current Sermon Series – The Servant King

Join us at First Church as Pastor Joel Bucklin continues his sermon series on the Gospel of Mark.

Most people see power as a means to an end. Power enables them to exert their authority over others. That is not the case with Jesus. He has all power, authority, and dominion. From the very first verse, Jesus is identified as the Messiah and Son of God. However, he did not use it to his own advantage. As Mark 10:45 says, Jesus “did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark’s Gospel describes Jesus as the Servant King. He was sent on a mission – to rescue his people from their sin by sacrificing his own life. Jesus, our Servant King, willing gave his life for us.
